The lesion exhibits prominent hemorrhage in a cellular background. Appears worrisome at first and second glances.

There is prominent hemosiderin deposition and few scattered mitotic figures.
​A panel of immunostains was done.

CD34 is negative, ruling out Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans and Kapisi’s sarcoma.
​Positive staining endothelium acts as good internal control.

Melan A is negative, ruling out melanoma.

CD68 shows scattered positive cells.

S100 is negative.

Desmin stain exhibits scattered positive cells.

Ki67 exhibits a low proliferative index, estimated at less than 5%.

The lesion exhibits numerous blood filled cavernous cavities in a background of cellular hemosiderotic fibrous histiocytoma.

No evidence of malignancy.
